“May this letter serve to express our solidarity regarding recent statements on cases of inadequate behavior by government officials who affect foreign investment in our country,”
In the letter to the British Ambassador, González explains that “without going into considerations about the protocol to be followed in the diplomatic arena, your statements definitely contribute to alert us to take a greater awareness of the evil that is corruption now plaguing the world”.
He said the British ambassador’s attitude “helps us all, public sector, private sector, Dominicans and foreigners, to take steps to eradicate it. The reality is that most Dominicans aim to reduce corruption. “
“His views express the feeling of the majority of Dominicans, confirmed in the opinion polls made in the country for national and international companies of high repute,” he said. He acknowledged the government’s efforts to combat corruption.

He said that today the relations between Great Britain and the country is one of the most successful, balanced and important.
He added that UK companies are the fifth largest investor in our country. The links between the two countries have been growing substantially over the past 25 years and should be protected, to continue to strengthen.
