Dominican card cloning gang arrested in Spain

Police said today, the gang had managed to steal about € 150,000 (US$205,000) in 300 transactions in various establishments in the Barcelona area.
It seems the cards were cloned by gang members in the Dominican Republic and then used along with forged identity documents, by their comrades in Sabadell to buy all sorts of luxury items.
Some examples from their extravagant lifestyle funded in this way were; € 5,000 (US$6,800) for a single evening in a night club and the purchase of, among other items, a watch worth € 20,000 (US$27,300) and latest generation computers valued at € 3,000 (US$4,100) each.
Some of the items purchased were resold for cash, which was sent to the gang's accomplices in the Dominican Republic.
According to police, the gang gained entry into databases of banks to obtain the information necessary to carry out the forgeries.
