Dominican diplomats arrested in Venzuela seling fake bonds

The official, interviewed prior to a meeting with the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD) said it had no further details about the arrest of officials of the Dominican Embassy in Caracas.
Morales said after learning of the arrests he ordered investigations and is awaiting details on the matter.
The two diplomats from the Dominican mission in Caracas have not been named. but Morales said that investigations have been started by the Deputy Foreign Minister Rosario Graciano.
The news was announced yesterday on "The Government of Tomorrow" radio program on the Z-101 radio station. According to the station, a retired general was arrested along with two diplomats. The general revealed the news after seeking the assistance of a local Lawyer.
The bonds would have defrauded the Central Bank of Venezuela for US$ 28 million, according to unconfirmed reports. The diplomats were released because of their diplomatic immunity status. The retired general, went to the Central Bank of Caracas accompanying the diplomats who allegedly tried to redeem the forged bonds.
