The Minister, Bautista Rojas Gomez, assured reporters that the health authorities will spare no efforts this year to control and prevent dengue fever.
He said that all necessary human and economic resources will be used to reduce the number of casualties this year.
Rojas addressed the issue during a meeting held every Monday with the management team of deputy ministers of all the relevant departments..
Rojas reported that, through the Vice Ministry of Public Health, the National Dengue Commission is working with the Provincial Health Directors and other official agencies in preventing and controlling the disease, which each year intensifies in the Americas.
He said the purpose of the health authorities stepping up preemptive action on the issue of dengue is to improve the epidemiological response in those provinces where there has been an increased incidence of the disease.
