Dominican hotels among the best in the world

The Tortuga Bay and Casa Colonial Beach & Spa boutique hotels were recently included in the Travellers Choice 2012 awards.  The awards are issued based on the voting cast by visitors to the online travel site TripAdvisor.

Also included on the list of Dominican awardees:  the Iberostar Grand Bavaro, Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado, Sanctuary Cap Cana, The Palace at Playa Grande, Extreme Hotel, Velero Beach, Casa 21, Swel Surf Camp, Holiday Inn and the Hotel Atarazana.

In the list of the Caribbean’s most important boutique hotels, the Tortuga Bay – located in the Punta Cana Resort & Club – came in third among the region’s best hotel facilities.  It also occupies the sixth place in the relaxation and spa categories, as well as in the luxury and best customer service categories.

The Casa Colonial Beach & Spa, in Playa Dorada, Puerto Plata, was also included amongst the best hotels in the region

The Iberostar Grand Bavaro, in Punta Cana, was included – for the second consecutive year – in the list of the top 25 all-inclusive resorts in the world and the Caribbean.

The Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado, in Samaná, is ranked as one of the finest all-inclusive hotels in the world.

Also on this list is the Bahia Principe Esmeralda, also in Punta Cana.

The Sanctuary Cap Cana, owned by the Salamander chain of hotels, is included amongst the best hotels in the category of most relaxing, luxury and spa facilities.

The Palace at Playa Grande is included in the category of luxury hotels of the Caribbean.  Included among the most popular and affordable are the Extreme Hotel y Velero (both in Cabarete, in the country’s north coast); the Casa 21 (in Sosua, also on the north coast) and the Swel Surf Camp in Cabarete and, amongst the most popular hotel facilities in the Caribbean:  the Coco Boutique Hotel, the Holiday Inn and the Atarazana, in Santo Domingo.
