Dr and Haiti convene to discuss cooperation and common development

The Minister of economy, planning and development Dominican Themistocles Montás, received a Haitian mission led by the Minister of planning and external cooperation of Haiti, Jude Hervey Day, said a release of the Dominican Presidency.
"We are giving continuity to the relations that had already to a good start with the previous Minister of planning (Haiti), a process that gave excellent results and we intend to follow threshing that path", said Montas.
Stressed that both countries have been working to lay the foundations "that allow us to foster economic and social development and political, and that is the aim of this mission's presence" u000a"Haitian".
The Minister Hervey Day argued, moreover, that the interests of both Governments is to have clear ideas and reflections agreed on common solutions that both countries are forced to confront.
"Must be noted that since 2010 we are prepared to develop the strategic plan for national development, this plan is a common reality, especially in the border", commented Hervey Day, according to the official note.
To strengthen the interest that the Haitian Government has made in implementing a development plan, the Minister Hervey Day greeted the fact the Dominican Republic recently put into effect a national development strategy with goals and objectives that must be of bilateral interest.
"We must address the issues of concern to both sides, we have an opportunity to balance between people who share physical spaces," said Hervey Day.
The Minister u000aHaitian said that his country needs a properly structured development plan to address issues relating to gifts, remittances, and the physical reconstruction process.
"This is the plan that we present to all those who want to provide their financial resources, a development plan which is precisely where we are you know towards where we want to go and what we've got in the hands," added.
The two Nations share the Caribbean island "Hispaniola" and a border of more than 400 km, while mainly develops an active trade Monday and Friday of each week at the bilateral border markets.
