The increase in the passages that earlier week was announced by the main public transport unions to start from today, was dismissed yesterday by John Hubieres, of the National Federation of transport the new option (Fenatrano); Ramon Perez Figuereo, of national carriers unified, and John Mars, of the National Confederation of transport (CNTT), in Santiago and the Cibao.

On the other hand, Antonio Marte, President of the National Confederation of transport (Conatra), said that they be now fixed position on the subject, despite having secured days ago that the increase would be produced if the Government did not duplicate the number of gallons of diesel oil subsidized to receive.

According to Hubieres, Fenatrano will not increase prices to users in the Christmas festivities, but cautioned that transport unions need Government subsidie passengers as it does with the people who use the u000athe Metropolitan Office of bus services (OMSA) services and the of the Santo Domingo Metro. He explained that if the authorities understand that the way to subsidize public transport is increasing the amount of oil that each month deliver them, then adequate mechanisms should seek to do so. The rejection of the increase in the passages was also expressed by Fenatracon, and its President Oscar de Jesus Francisco, who asked passengers refuse to pay when attempting to collect premium ticket.

While Perez Figuereo assured that their Union did not support the fare increase, and that on the other hand, what is needed is sit down and discuss with the authorities on the basis of the operational costs entailed in the service of public transport in the country. According to Mars, the threat is irrational, because not only affect the users, but own drivers because fewer people will set up in vehicles of transport public.

The u000aPresident of the National Confederation of transport (CNTT), John Mate, yesterday rejected an increase in the price of a ticket, as they have warned that some stations of public transport, that the moment is not opportune to take a measure of this nature.

Trade unions have warned that they will increase the rate of passage in the capital, Santiago and other towns of the country, if the Government does not doubled the number of gallons of fuel that subsidizes it.

According to Mars, the threat is irrational, because not only affect the users, but own drivers because fewer people will set up in public transport vehicles.
