Dutch tourist drowns in Cabarete

A tourist drowned yesterday while swimming in Cabarete. Kor Thals, a 62 year-old Dutchman was vacationing at the Hotel Tropical Casa Laguna in Cabarete. Witnesses saw him swimming showing signs of distress near the Restaurant Blue, but were unable to help as he was submerged under the waves.
Cornoner Dr. Freddy Salazar confirmed the death was by drowning and a possible stroke.
The body was later sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences in Santo Domingo.
Meanwhile, the case is being investigated by National Police officers in Cabarete under Second Lieutenant Adrian Isaac Rodriguez Montero.
