Duvalier should be tried for abuse

The Inter-American Commission on human rights criticized yesterday Wednesday recommendation of a Haitian judge of not prosecuting former dictator Jean - Claude Duvalier for alleged crimes against humanity and other abuses.
The IACHR recalled in a statement have documented the Commission of gross and systematic violations of human rights during the Government of Duvalier in a report on the situation of human rights in Haiti, published in 1979.
"Torture, extrajudicial executions and enforced disappearances committed during the Jean-Claude Duvalier regime are crimes against humanity and, as such, are imprescriptible...", expressed.
