The commercial and financial directors of the company reported in a press conference that sixteen employees had been removed from their duties after refusing to do the work they had been hired for.
Radhams del Carmen and Erick Jerez Meja reported that the audit found inadequate supervision against visible electricity fraud., lack of controls in general collection efforts, poor management of warehouse materials and administrative malpractice.
Those sacked were named as, Cristino Snchez, Indhira Melina Castro Lebrn, Ricardo Morel Bierd, Madelin Mabel De Len Santos, Sandy Pascual Almeng, Artenio De Jess Gmez Arias, Anselmo Gonzlez Lpez and Luis Rafael Molina.
Edenorte officials claimed that suggestions that union members had been sacked was absurd as there is no legally recognized union associated with this work.
They recalled that two other employees had recently been before the court in Puerto Plata on alleged embezzlement.
The officials said that all these actions were part of a process of improvement in business operations, executed by order of the Executive Vice President of CDEEE, Celso Marranzini.
