Emergency Center reports 30 deaths during Easter holiday including 23 from traffic accidents

Viewed 836 times.The Dominican Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported that during the Easter (Semana Santa) holiday, 30 people died, of which 23 were from traffic accidents, two from alcohol poisoning and five by drowning. This year there were two fewer deaths than last year, which claimed 32
The final report noted that besides the 30 killed, 668 other people were badly affected.
It also indicates that during the holiday, 368 traffic accidents occurred, affecting 570 people. 73 people were treated for alcohol poisoning and 50 for food poisoning.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (AMET) say they impounded 1,237 motorcycles and 216 motor vehicles.
In breaking down the tragic events, the COE noted that two people died on Thursday, ten on Friday, 12 on Saturday and 6 on Sunday, for a total of 30 dead.
