English wiki turns off

Wikipedia yesterday Wednesday blocked access to his articles in English and Google blackened the logo of your home page, adding to the protest of other cibersitios against a legislation pending in Congress aimed to close the sites who share movies and content piracy.

In turn, Reddit.com closed its social networking service for 12 hours. Other sites joined the protest without interrupting your service.

Ads featured a black screen which directed users to a page with arguments against the legislation.

After 10 seconds the page opened a link to their website, but some users did not realize and thought that ads had been temporarily closed access to their lists.

Cibersitios Wikipedia and Google and internet companies are concerned that the law, if adopted, can use to affect legitimate cibersitios in which users share u000acontents.

The House of representatives studied law to stop online piracy and the Senate of the intellectual property protection law. The closure of Wikipedia for 24 hours is a step without precedent for online encyclopedia. However it is not complete: blocking can be overcome by changing the parameters of your browser.
