The funds were provided by the European Union as part of their policy to support development programs for African, Caribbean and Pacific countries.
Jimenez announced the delivery of resources during a meeting with Education Minister Melanio Paredes, and the leader of the European Delegation, Ambassador Irene Horejs.
The European official said that funds are the fourth payment under this program and have been approved as a result of the evaluation of progress indicators in Dominican education made by Brussels.
During a press conference at the Ministry of Education, Jiminez said that among the achievements of PAPSE are reorganizing and modernizing the education system and the revision and adaptation of teacher training policy.
Thanking Jiminez for the grant, Paredes said that this support is recognition of the macroeconomic performance of the Dominican government and the spirit of solidarity shown to the people of Haiti and the ministry he leads.
He said that the funds received earlier were mainly intended for innovation in classroom education, the work of curricular performance indicators for children in their first years at school and continuing reform of secondary education. He stressed the importance of the contribution, which had helped to equip and deliver several excellent polytechnics.
