EU disburses EUR 9 million to improve the competitiveness of RD

Viewed 27 times.The European Union made a disbursement of nine million euros, in Dominican pesos signifying RD$ 460 million, to be used as budgetary support in the institutions dealing with the goal of making that Dominican enterprises are becoming increasingly more competitive.
The director of the Directorate-General of Multilateral cooperation (Digecom), Domingo Jiménez, expressed that the disbursement made in the form of support budgetary sector of the European Union, seeks to impact indicators that arise in the national strategy of development in the party that has to do with the competitiveness of this country.
He said that this budget support programme has a duration of three years and was preceded by a plan for strengthening the institutions responsible for executing these resources.
"Only after a positive assessment of any progress made during the 2011 in the implementation of the programme," u000a"we have been able to submit to the authorities in Brussels a document requesting and approving the disbursement of the first tranche of budgetary support and that we have achieved today (yesterday), will sign a document confirming the disbursement of these nine million euros," said Irene Horejs, charge of the delegation of the European Union in the country
He stated that the disbursement is aimed towards the Dominican Republic budget which, in turn, it shall be distributed to the different entities that are responsible for implementing all necessary measures to improve the competitiveness of the sector enterprises private.
