The accusations of corruption and embezzlement are detailed in papers lodged with the courts in the National District. Included in the indictment are Isaury Rodriguez, Juan Castillo and Nicholas Concepcion, who accompanied Lara in the administration of PRA, as directors of purchasing, administration and finance, respectively.
The head of the DPCA, Hotoniel Bonilla said that Lara and the other three defendants embezzled 50 million pesos from the state.
He said the investigation determined that former officials also committed the crimes of trespass and conspiracy.
Bonilla said he hoped that the defendants would be convicted, because there is sufficient evidence to show that there was embezzlement against the state.
Among Laras alleged crimes are the diversion of building materials to a a private house, the appointment to his staff of relatives and members of a church to which he belonged and the payment of excessive salaries to employees.
