Domestic exports have experienced amazing thanks to the diversification of destinations growth, the expansion of the exportable and the inclusion of small and medium-sized enterprises to the task export.

This was stated yesterday the President of the Dominican Association of exporters (Adoexpo), Kai Schoenhals, alpronunciar his speech at the celebration of editing the "exporter dinner" 25.

Stressed that in 2010 national exports accounted for 38% of the total, with a result of US$ 6, 598. He said that if projections are correct in 2011 they will represent 43 per cent, amounting to US$ 7, 400.

"If add you that from next year we will include in this equation the revival of the traditional champion of national exports, Falcondo, over the entry of Barrick Pueblo Viejo, we can say then that domestic exports are directed in 2012 to represent 50% or more of exports" u000a"total of our country," stressed Schoenhals.

Said that in terms of the impact on the generation of foreign currencies, only during the first half of 2011 national exports ranked second in national importance, with a total of $1,700 million, or 26 per cent of foreign currency that entered the country.

Reflection
he stressed that domestic exports are that directly reflect the increase in the inclusion of small and medium-sized enterprises in export activity, productive sector that believes will be the engine of sustainable economic development in Dominican Republic.

"We must work to overcome the weaknesses, that as a nation will prevent us from attaining competitiveness needed to be successful in foreign markets." Don't get me wrong, yes we have made progress, we have come a long way in our country, but that does not mean that still should not be many outstanding tasks if we want to make the leap that gave countries u000a"as an Chile that, through the promotion of their exports has managed to join a select group of developed countries with per capita income similar to defined as the first world", argued the President of Adoexpo.

To achieve this goal, Schoenhals considers urgent the deepening of a foreign trade policy that is consistent with the objectives set out in the national strategy of development and with the conclusions of the fourth Congress business recently organized by the National Council of private enterprise (Conep).

In his opinion, a foreign trade policy must be based on the diversification of markets and offer an enlarged range of industrialized products of higher value-added and more competitive.

Strategy
to achieve a foreign trade policy based on diversification, recalled the definitive articulation of the presidential table of exports, which should be necessary u000acomposed of the Association of industries (AIRD), Asociación Dominicana zones (Adozona), Adoexpo and the Dominican Association of hotels and tourism. "We hope that our authorities continue fostering growth, through the implementation of laws such as the competitiveness and Industrial innovation and strengthening the concept that taxes are not exported," said the President of Adoexpo.

Goal, stresses the need to diversify exports strategically in four quadrants, 25% to United States, a market who, said not be him should be minimized and still represents the most important trading partner; 25 per cent to Europe and the remaining 50% from the rest of America and Asia.
