Exports will increase more than $1,400 million

In a report, the CEI-RD indicates that Dominican exports grew 23.61 per cent in the first nine months of 2011, over same period in 2010, going from $4,835.56 million to US$ 5,977.22 million, equivalent to a growth of $1,141 million, which is expected to increase more than $1,400 million.
The country's exports continue to have as its main market to the American nation, followed by the Haitian and the Puerto Rican.
Dominated exports non-traditional export commodities (agricultural, agro-industrial, industrial and handicrafts), followed by mining. Artisanal products declined 22%, for a value of $1.95 million and minerals grew 310.84%, reaching a value of $260.84 million, based on sales of ferronickel, after a restart of operations of the mining plant in Bonao.
