Fernandez starts 11 day tour of Europe and USA
posted on: Jul 4 2010 15:57 by Royston. Viewed 544 times.President Leonel Fernandez traveled to Europe on Saturday at the start of an eleven day tour that will take him to Spain, Germany and Washington.
The president flew out on an Iberian flight accompanied by Foreign Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso , Finance Minister, Vicente Bengoa, and the Director of Presidential Press and Publicity, Rafael Nez, and other government officials.
According to the official agenda, Fernandez will return to the country on the 14th of this month after meeting President Barack Obama in Washington.
Fernandez is scheduled to meet the German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday, after having lunch with the Foreign Minister and Vice Chancellor, Guiido Westernwelle.
On July 10 he flies to New York, where he will hold several private meetings on Sunday 11th and will then fly on to Washington.
On Monday 12th he meets President Obama, and on Tuesday he will visit George Washington University before flying home on the 14th.
