This announcement was made by Deputy Attorney General Ramón Arístides Madera, who was the liaison with the Emergency Operations Center (COE) during the holiday.
Madera explained that it was recommended that the prosecutors at Manzanillo, Santo Domingo and the National District proceed with questioning the people responsible for those children that had consumed alcohol.
He also rejected the allegation that seven children were poisoned by alcohol in Bani, but recommended that the Bani prosecutor make an inquiry.
He said that as soon as they receive the medical examiner's certificate, it will be forwarded to prosecutors in those jurisdictions to act in accordance with what is established in the child protection laws.
He said it was unfortunate that a five year old was admitted to a medical center for alcohol poisoning.
