Fingerprint security installed at Las Americas

The Director General for Migration and the Central Electoral Board hope this will help in preventing people leaving the country using forged papers. If successful it could be extended to all Dominican border control points and airports.
"With the implementation of this system, we are completing a long held aspiration and it will also bring us up to international standards," said Vice Admiral Pared Prez, head of immigration, delivering the opening speech..
He said the target was to have the system installed across all control points by 2011.
