Fire at Playa Dorada

A fire started at 5:30 pm on Friday at the Gran Ventana Resort in Playa Dorada, Puerto Plata.

The blaze was quickly brought under control by a unit from the Municipal Fire Brigade in Puerto Plata and the hotel continues to operate normally.

The hotel, which is run by VH Hotels, owned by the Garcia family, has not given  details of the cost of the damage, but the police report indicates that a quantity of laundry equipment was destroyed.
