Fire destroys bar in Sosua, firemen arrive on motos
posted on: Feb 3 2010 12:5 by Royston. Viewed 1004 times. The early hours of Friday saw the Wild Coyote bar in Sosua reduced to ashes. The premises owned by Dolfy Migh on Calle Pedro Clisante had been rented by a German resident.

The firefighter Chief, Orlando Sierra, said that the case will be investigated to see if there is any criminal act involved or if it was a simple accident, perhaps due to an electrical fault.
According to witness reports, the fire started in the early hours of Friday morning and was only prevented from spreading to adjacent properties with the help of firefighters from Puerto Plata airport.
It seems Sosua firefighters were arriving on motoconchos as their own fire truck was not working, according to the local fire chief. Having taken the precaution of locking it up after earlier thefts, he was still unable to bring it to the scene.
