The authorities of the main city in the area, Chennai (formerly Madras), have ordered the temporary evacuation of homes in low-lying areas in anticipation of flooding, and have led to its inhabitants to camps which already comprises u000afood.
"We know nothing of what happens in the outside world." We only hear the whistling of the wind. "Many trees have fallen and the mobile signal is not adequate," told this agency a resident of the city of Pondicherry, S. Ravikumar.
The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted rain strong or very strong in several parts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry until tonight, and ensures that there will be precipitation in the neighbouring regions of Kerala, Andhra and Karnataka.
