Four men killed during brewery robbery
posted on: Jun 21 2011 12:48 by The Reporter. Viewed 868 times. Four men were shot and killed were killed this morning by police officers at a warehouse owned by the Dominican National Brewery.
The deceased were only identified by the nicknames El Chivo, El Gringo, Leandro and Beidy, while the two injured were Michel Camilo Beras and Federico Abreu.
A Police spokesman said the incident occurred when seven robbers broke into the warehouse attempting to rob the safe.
Police think the robbers may have planned the robbery in coordination with the caretaker. The spokesman said they were investigating the responsibility of the caretaker.
The theft was interrupted when police officers in the area noticed and rushed to the scene.
A third person was also injured, a passerby identified as Alberto who works for a local cab company, Anacaona.
All three injured are in the Vinicio Calventi de Los Alcarrizos hospital.
Police at the crime scene recovered four guns, which are being investigated along with the ammunition.
The warehouse is the number three in the Bohemia brewery.
The four dead were all in a cream Toyota Corolla, which had around 15 bullet holes.
