French investors group meet with local business leaders
posted on: Oct 2 2010 9:25 by Royston. Viewed 550 times.Laurent Grenet, director of the French Business group, MEDEF, is in the country in response to an invitation from the Dominican Center for Export and Investment (CEI- RD). His agenda includes meetings with entrepreneurs here and in Haiti.
On Friday morning, Grenet met with young Dominican business executives and discussed the possible interest of the French investors he represents in doing business on both sides of the island.
According to Grenet, his visit is to follow up on "agreements on business initiatives by President Leonel Fernandez in his most recent trip to France."
He stressed the importance of the reconstruction of Haiti and the possibilities and opportunities for investment and cooperation that this represents .
According to the CEI- RD, this is the first visit by MEDEF, the French employers' organization representing some 750,000 companies of all sizes and sectors. The organization has an international section which aims to develop bilateral relations between French and foreign companies .
