The output of 550 megawatts of energy system in one fell swoop is a fact that was not the case for ten years. But calm, authorities say there will be no major difficulties, which indicates that the power outages that occur during this long weekend will be the usual.

That Yes, will save and control the consumption of electricity. The Foundation for consumer rights (Fundecom) called the authorities in the electricity sector to be careful with the kinds of generating plants that will be made to work in substitution of the AES Dominican company, since that could have an economic impact of severe consequences for the State.

In that regard, the Executive Vice President of the Dominican Corporation of State electric companies (CDEEE), Celso Marranzini, is quiet and is confident that everything will happen without major inconveniences.

Throughout the country requested a rational use of energy from the 27 to the u000a31 this month to alleviate the impact on the system of the exit of the terminal of AES Dominican gas by maintenance.

Concern that have felt different sectors has not reached Marranzini, who reported that units 1 and 2 of the Tavera hydroelectric will operate round-the-clock from 27 to 31 of this month to balance levels of voltage of the system, which might be affected by the absence of the units in maintenance of the mine V and VI and AES Andrés, as well as reducing the supply of energy for the circuits which receive 24 hours of light.

To mitigate the impact, Marranzini warned that in this period are les subtracted two or three hours of energy to the circuits to receive 24-hour electricity to not significantly affect the service in the C and D, which are the levels of payment recipients between 14 and 18 hours of light.

"Do not want to make promises in vain, because handle system with 550 megabytes less" u000aIt will force our technicians, who are very good to do many skills in the control center. "But we will make every effort to maintain the service with the greatest possible stability," asserted.

Also asked the clients of the system support in this situation. "The contribution that you do not switch on an air conditioning, an electric burner or a hair dryer helps system.

""

With this, contributes to the stability of the Dominican system and his country", argued.

Generation, the official said AES output to be offset by the electric company of San Pedro de Macorís (CESPM), San Felipe, Palamara La Vega, Monte Rio and full operation of hydroelectric power.

Marranzini reiterated that the mining Falconbridge, who along with Cemex is one of the companies of greater power consumption, will use the output of the units of AES to also carry out its programme of maintenance.

While Cemex will not operate u000aFriday the 27th and Tuesday 31, the day known as critical because it is when the population returns from the rest of the long weekend and the industry begins to function normally.

"Is a program planned and coordinated with the three distribution companies, the coordinating body of the electric system (OC-SENI), generating companies and non-regulated users, and it has become in an era that causes a minor trauma," stressed.

Marranzini, who was optimistic planning he has done with the distributors, spoke yesterday in a participation in the programme the Government of the morning, the radio station Z-101.

Warning to the CNE, A LA SIE and the CDEEE competition

the Foundation for consumer rights alerted the National Commission energy to the Vice-Presidency of the CDEEE / Executive to the Superintendencia de Electricidad (SIE), that they avoid the company AES Dominican, that u000agenerates electricity, imports and sells natural gas for industrial use, increase the dominant position in the market, which prior to the announcement of expansion of its facilities in Andrés-Boca girl, surpassed the 42%.

Articles 4 and 6 of law 42-08, dated January 16, 2008, on defense of competition, define what is dominant in the market and the abuse of that dominant position, situation that is being presented so notorious in the Dominican electrical market, especially in generation, import, storage and distribution of natural gas for industrial use, so it is urgent that you explain to the Dominican population if the expansion announced by the AES Dominican company was authorized by the appropriate electrical authorities and if it does not meets the regulations established by law 42-08

Article 50 of the Constitution prohibits monopolies for the benefit of u000aprivate and only allows them to benefit of the State and its institutions through a law calling for free competition and fair, must take measures to prevent monopolies and abuses of dominant position, which is why keep expanding disproportionately, the AES company end up controlling the Dominican electric market.
