German extradited for producing controlled drugs illegally

Dominican authorities have extradited a German national who is accused of manufacturing controlled drugs in am illegal laboratory in Santiago.
Freidhelm Werner Koenig, 55, a doctor of physics, was extradited to Germany on Copa Airlines flight CM 447 via Panama and Mexico, from Santo Domingo's Las Americas airport.
Werner Koenig was arrested last week in while working in the Laboratorio Werner located at Km 8 1/2, on the Duarte highway in Santiago.
The DNCD reported that they started to investigate the case after Koenig requested a permit to import controlled substances Oxycodone and Pseudoephedrine which are used in the production of male sexual stimulants.
He lived on 19th Street, Carolina del Norte, in the Gurabo municipality.
The DNCD said that Werner Koenig had an international criminal record for similar practices in Germany, the United States and Mexico.
