The shooting occurred on the same day when Virginia Tech officials were in Washington to fight the Government fined by his alleged mismanagement of the massacre at 2007.
Before that it was clear that the attacker on Thursday was dead, the University applied the lessons learned during the last tragedy, to close the campus and inform students and teachers via e-mail and text messages that remain in the Interior of the campus spaces.
The policeman was killed after stopping a driver by a traffic ticket. The gunman, who was not involved in the infringement, came to the u000aestacionamienacto and he shot the officer, said Sergeant Robert Carpentieri.
The police did not mention a mobile. An official who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed that the attacker was dead, but did not say how they died.
Reportedly the gunman died at less than half a kilometer from the place of the infringement, in another parking lot of the University, where officials said that a man was found dead near a firearm.
In a press conference, the police did not confirm if the second body was that of the attacker, but Carpentieri said "can be read between the lines".
