Haitian Chancellor highlights the figure of Juan Bosch

Haitian Minister Laurent Lamothe yesterday expressed his respect for the figure of the former Dominican President Juan Bosch, around which occurred a mishap by the use of his name in a building of the University that the Government of Dominican Republic built in the North of Haiti to donate to that country.

Lamothe "insisted" on the tribute which the Government paid to the memory of Bosch, "that the Haitian people have the greatest of respect", the by Joseph Anténor Fimin, an intellectual born in Haiti, "symbol of life for all University Haitians".

Lamothe welcomed "" the choice of the name adopted by both Governments to the University library dedicated to Juan Emilio Bosch Gaviño (1909-2001), the first head of Dominican Government elected democratically after the fall of dictator Rafael l. The mishap happened last week before the opening ceremony of the University Henri Christophe, located in Limonade, 15 kilometres south of Cap-Haïtien (North), and was due to the name of Bosch was not next to the Fimin in the building of the library as it was originally proposed.

At the meeting, Lamothe thanked once again Dominican Republic the financing and construction of "one of the best universities in the region" which the officer described as a "symbol of Union between the two countries".

Haitian Chancellor also expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Auditorium of the University is devoted to Joseph Anténor Firmin, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Haiti in the Government of Florvil Hypolithe (1889-1896).

The Dominican Ambassador, for its part, said that he shared the position of the President of his country, Leonel Fernandez, and Haitian President Michel Martelly strengthen exchanges between the two Nations, and noted that you want to remove all the misunderstandings about a noble gesture of Dominican Republic with Haiti and the hope of promoting greater harmony u000abetween the two peoples
