He starts the race in Iowa

Nobody currently has the personal charisma or the necessary support to be treated as a convincing candidate for the general public. Whoever is chosen will have to earn it on the long road to the Convention.
Non-standard primary
in that sense, these are some primary somewhat atypical. Very different, of course, that the Democrats held four years ago, when two thuggish Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama personalities competed in a spectacular duel between giants. But different from others that have involved relevant Republican figures such as Ronald Reagan, George Bush father, or even George Bush son or u000aJohn McCain, a troop from personal attractive initially or solvency contrasted.
This time there are none with those attributes. None of the three with chances of winning in Iowa - Mitt Romney, Ron Paul or Rick Santorum - has in advance with the support of their own ranks or the magic of his personality.
All three are very questionable characters inside and outside the party, which will have to earn the respect and support in the coming months.
Romney it is the most clear way. It is the clear favorite for victory in New Hampshire, a State less conservative than Iowa which usually support candidates moderated.
And hence could be catapulted towards the triumph in the successive primary. But before he has to go through South Carolina, the third station on this route, where Romney does not have the sympathies of most religious and ultraconservative who dominate the Republican party in that State.
