Health public clorifica a total of 118 rural aqueducts

The Minister of public health, Bautista Rojas Gomez, said that this action is part of the project of improving the quality of water in 332 aqueducts that implements Ministry throughout the country for the purposes of preventing and reducing the incidence of diseases in the Dominican Republic.
The aqueducts of Elías Piña, Barahona, Pedernales, San Juan de la Maguana, Azua, were prioritized because of its proximity to the border with the neighboring nation of Haiti, in at the beginning of last year where he developed an outbreak of cholera.
Rojas Gómez said that the important project of chlorination of water in systems of rural aqueducts seeks to strengthen and expand the u000ameasures of prevention and control of cholera and other diseases through the improvement of the quality of the water.
Also stressed that you for the management and continuity of this project of chlorination were trained community members of the zone to monitoren themselves and contribute to the maintenance and sostenidbilidad of this modality that guarantees the consumption of drinking water quality.
The Minister stressed that they intend to continue with the goal of this project cover 342 water systems, in a second stage, work at 101 water distributed in 8 provinces.
