Hipólito estimates 2012 will be worst year

The presidential candidate for the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), Hipólito Mejía, said last night in Santiago that 2012, in social and economic terms will be worse than 2011, because of the external indebtedness that the present Government has brought the country.

Mejia said that this year has been very difficult for Dominicans, but that the next year will be worse.

The former President spoke after a baseball game between the Aguilas and El Licey in the Cibao State, in the midst of a great show of acrobatics, where he received the ovation and the affection of fans.

"This year has been a very difficult for all Dominicans and there is no doubt that the next, 2012, will be worse," added the leader of the opposition.

In this context, he indicated that the negative consequences of this year which has been very badly handled should be deeply discussed by the Government.
