Hipólito Mejía and Miguel Vargas differ in high courts judges choice

Candidate of the Dominican Revolutionary Party, Hipólito Mejía, and the President of that organization, Miguel Vargas, today showed their differences on the choice of the judges of the high courts.
While Mejia describes the selection of the judges of the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE), the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) and the Constitutional Court of shameful and rode roughshod that is "over" the principle of impartiality that should prevail in the process, Vargas assessed as positive the decision.

He said the approach that has prevailed in the choice of the judges, with rare exceptions, was that of friendship, militancy with the policy of President Fernandez area and the status of civil servant and ex-funcionario of his Government.
"These results show the vocation democratic anti of the President of the Republic of wanting to control all public authorities, as it did with the National Congress, the Chamber of accounts and the Central Electoral Board," said.
In that regard, said that now imposes all democratic sectors in the country to fight together so that on May 20 next year there is a real change, u000ato ensure the balance of the public authorities, as a key reason for the maintenance and strengthening of democracy Dominican.
