Holds police gang members

At least fifty people allegedly linked to youth gangs in distress to different neighborhoods of Santiago, were arrested yesterday by the national police during operations carried out by agents of that institution.
The spokesman for the Directorate Cibao Central of the national police, Colonel Lawrence Morillo, said that these individuals were arrested and brought to justice within the framework of the regional operating antipandilla, ordered by the head of this institution.
The officer reported that the operation was carried out simultaneously in Central America, Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic.
Morillo said agents were able to identify those arrested as members of the gangs Los Trinitarios, Forty Two, Latin King, the Panthers and the Ñetas, whom they dealt three pistols, a revolver, portions of cocaine and clothing on their respective gangs.
