Illegal aliens to get provisional license to stay

Roberto Soario explained that these people will be given three years to regularize their immigration status by opting for residency or for Dominican citizenship or a legal document that permits the holder to enter and leave the country.
He stated that JCE submitted to the National Immigration Council a proposal for regularization of foreigners in the country, which was approved by the agency.
He said that the card that will be given to immigrants will not change their status and that this will be a means for state agencies to identify these people, mainly Haitians ..
The President of Administrative Chamber of JCE spoke at the inauguration of a building that will house offices JCE in the town of Sabana Iglesia, Santiago province He said the measure seeks to solve the immigration problem, which is what most impacts the local registrar.
"With the card we will have the ability to have information for all citizens and foreign nationals who are in our country and also give them the opportunity to have a document that allows access to all services and facilities offered by the Dominican State," he said.
