IMF maintains close dialogue with the country

The director of external relations of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Gerry Rice, said yesterday that the multilateral financial institution maintains a close dialogue with the Dominican authorities, with regard to the agreement Stand by signed in 2009.

Rice yesterday offered a press conference at the headquarters of the IMF in Washington, which is transmitted by means of a videoconference with translation into the Spanish.

The IMF spokesperson said that the Fund continues to work of general policy, "more technical matters, with regard to the programme", but "dates for a possibly future mission are to be determined".

With regard to Argentina, the spokesman for the IMF noted that agency welcomes the opportunity to deepen dialogue with Argentina and between end of January will be the results of a meeting of the Board, which will evaluate progress and a series of measures deemed necessary based on the recommendations of the staff of the Agency.
