IMF mission begins lifting the country's fiscal situation

Viewed 17 times.A technical mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) launched an uprising of the fiscal situation of the Dominican Government exploring alternatives to the financianición of the national electricity sector, announced the Minister of economy, planning and development, Themistocles Montás.
The first meeting was held at the headquarters of the Central Bank with the participation of officials and technicians from institutions that are members of the Cabinet of the Government economic, said Montas.
This the IMF mission is to deal with the Dominican authorities the issue of the electricity sector, explained the official.
"That is what is being treated because basically the issue of the electricity sector is what introduces the economic part of the Government and pressure on public spending," said the Minister, according to a note from the communication unit of the Ministry of finance, planning and development.
"In that the sector" u000a"electric we demand more resources, those resources must find them either by means of the reduction of government spending or by way of the indebtedness of the Government, then the debate with the background is that, how to address the issue of the greater amount of resources that must be sought for the electricity sector this year", said Montas.
Montas spoke after participating in the event where the first national survey of immigrants was announced on Dominican Republic that will be applied in the month of June of 2012 by the national Office of statistics (ONE).
In the event, held at the green room, on the third floor of the National Palace, representatives, in addition of several international agencies, including the European Union and the United Nations Population Fund.
