Inaugurate Jet Blue La Romana-NY route

Two new air routes will be inaugurated this week bound for La Romana from New York and Puerto Rico, keys to the strengthening of this destination, according to industry experts tourist.

The first was opened yesterday by the airline Jet Blue, from the International Airport John f. Kennedy, New York, with two weekly frequencies, on Wednesday and Saturday.

"Was an excellent maiden flight, thanks to the efforts we have undertaken together with the airline, Casa de Campo and the tour operators.

Occupancy was 135 seats and we hope to continue that pace in each of the flights", said Lucien Echevarria, Director of the Office of tourism promotion in New York

This new service is permanent, an Airbus A320 aircraft with capacity for 150 passengers; both executives line as the Ministry of tourism officials hoped the frequency increase of two per week to one day for the u000ayear next.

"The first time we talked with executives from Jet Blue with the interest of having a direct connection from New York La Romana was nine years ago, the line became interested in other destinations, but we are finally beginning with two flights a week and we hope to increase to one day because it is beneficial for all hotels in La Romana and Bayahibe", said Claudio Silvestre, President & Ceo of Casa from field.

Sylvester thanked the collaboration of the Minister of tourism, Francisco Javier García.
