The leader of the progressive national force, Vinicio Castillo Semán, suggested a summit between President Leonel Fernández, Miguel Vargas Maldonado and Carlos Morales Troncoso, as Presidents of the major parties in the country, in an attempt to seek a harmonious solution which does not upset or subvierta the institutionality of the Junta Central Electoral.
Said that his approach is produced in virtue that mediation by Monsignor Agripino Núñez Col with the Secretaries-General of the LDP and the PRD could not arrive at a concerted solution. "The departure of Franklin Frias of the Center for computation of the Central Electoral Board as an imposition made from the outside unless it has provided no proof or evidence of misconduct or inconductas at the head of that agency, would fail all the authority of the current judges of the JCE to arbitrate the process that lies ahead," said.
