Italian's killer jailed

A court in Puerto Plata has sentenced the killer of a Cabarete businessman to fifteen years in jail.

The offender, Jos� Lisandro Moreta, 28,  will be sent to the San Felipe correction center in Puerto Plata.

He was found guilty of shooting Paolo Giucastro, 41, originally from Italy, who ran a Kite Surf school in Cabarete. 

Giucastro had lived with his mother for about ten years in a villa close to Coconut Palms resort, in an area occupied mainly by Europeans and Americans.

He was murdered on January 19th, 2010, when Moreta broke into his house at about 3:00am.
