In reference to a statement by the President of the SCJ, that she was being investigated for an alleged request of US$6,000 from a British company, to judge a ruling in their favor, she said that she would like to know the name of the company and the person who appears in a recording referring to her.
Last week the SCJ President reported that he had received the complaint against the judge involved in the alleged extortion attempt. The case follows the complaint made weeks earlier by the British Ambassador, Steven Fisher.
Subero Isa said that the accusation against Judge Sánchez Molina was presented by the lawyer of the company, Cristina Rodriguez Vargas, who presented a phone conversation of a middleman referring to Judge Sanchez Molina. The Judiciary Council referred the case to the Attorney-General's Office for further investigation.
The Judge, in a document sent to the media yesterday said that with respect to Cristina Rodríguez Vargas, "the only thing that has passed through my hands was a process of referral of the embattled parties with respect to the ownership of the Hotel Catalina Golden Suite, of murdered Alfredo Rodriguez (Niño Pata Corta), in which I ordered it put it in the hands of a court to get to the bottom of the case", said the judge.
In this context, she said she felt extremely concerned about the situation, "not so much for me, as my conscience is clear, but because of the exposure in the media."
