Korean bank to fund improvements to migration control

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Economy, Planning and Developmentm Temistocles Montas and the Director of Eximbank Co-operation Fund, Tea Soo Kim, during a ceremony held in the National Palace. Through the provision of equipment, infrastructure construction and personnel training, this program seeks to modernize the entire system of check-in and departure at ports and airports, as well as immigration control posts installed along the Dominican-Haitian border, said. a statement released after the signing.
Minister Monts was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Planning, Nelson Toca and the Director General of Public Investment, Miguel Hernandez, both from the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development.
The ceremony was also attended by Sugho Lee, a Korean who serves as advisor to the Director General of Immigration and is responsible for implementing the program, Heriberto Minaya, Deputy Director of Technology for Customs and the International Project Co-ordinator of the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Luis Jos Polanco.
Montas explained that this was an ongoing program to improve and modernize all migration controls that operated by the authorities, including the border with Haiti, and thanked the Korean bank for their help and support.
