LMD approves budget of RD$ 774 MM by 2012

The extraordinary General Assembly of municipalities, consisting of mayors and mayors of the country, approved yesterday here its budget by the year 2012 for the sum of RD$ 774,150,000, corresponding to the Dominican Municipal League, councils, boards of districts, fire brigades and the Dominican municipalities Federation.

Activity was led by Antonio Picel, Deputy Minister of Interior and police, on behalf of the owner of that portfolio, José Ramón Fadul, President ex officio of the Executive Committee of the LMD, and the general Secretary of this organism, Fidias Aristy.

Accompanied them on the Board, among others, Hanoy Sánchez, Mayor of this municipality; Félix Rodríguez, President of the Dominican Federation of municipalities and Mayor of San Francisco de Macorís; Julián Roa, President of the Dominican Association of Aldermen, and Amantina Gómez, President of the Dominican Asdociación of women municipal.

Also u000athe opening was attended by special guest Felix Bautista, Senator for the province of San Juan; Lucy Medina, Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies; Monsignor José Dolores Grullón Estrella, Bishop of this diocese, and the Deputy David Herrera.

Aristy expressed concern at the precarious conditions that firefighters and many cabildos and municipal boards are handled specially the more small.

Also, Aristy said that for next December the LMD will ultimately liquidate employees and former officials from the municipalities as reimbursement of their contributions to the defunct plan of withdrawal of the institution.

The Secretary of the Agency Advisory Councils, on the occasion of celebrated the international day of No violence against women, said that the most beautiful being is a woman and therefore should not be abused by any man.

"Sepan all and all, be sure that we are from the Dominican Municipal League" u000a"determined to foster gender equity and non-violence against women, and in fact because we have created an Office of this specialty," stressed Aristy.
