Luis Kenton sought help to the Government

In a humble apartment in Puerto Rico Street, almost hidden to passers-by, in the sector Alma Rosa, is a figure in the history of merengue.
Name: Luis Kenton.
Lovers of classic merengue recall, without a doubt, those times in which Los Kenton did with its particular and ingenious choreography, a mixture of martial arts and merengue dance to Dominicans.
Could also make memory of the tragic crash of one of its members, Luis, which would cost abandoning music temporarily and live in a wheelchair until today.
What happened on October 29, 1987, while he practiced gymnastics at the Olympic Center.
The result to the life of Luis Kenton would be a degenerative espondiloartrosis which seriously affects their driving ability, to the point that not can fend for itself or to do the most simple everyday activities such as eating, bathing, or move from one side to another in the u000aprivacy of the home without the company of her wheelchair is while care and cared for by their maternal cousin.

Aid received
despite their precarious condition of health and the high costs of treatment (2,000 to 6,000 dollars), Luis Kenton does not receive any solid economic help to meet their needs. Am surprised that President Leonel Fernández has delivered to different pension u000aDominican artists, without taking into consideration. "I hope that the Government can help me," he says.
Luis requires a proper House and a pension which can continue to live with dignity, because that is currently in serious economic trouble.

Foundation and school of artistic TALENTS to the astonishment of all, Luis Kenton
directs a foundation that bears his name and a school of talents (supported by some music teachers), in charge of preparing boys and girls "to be artists with dignity and quality", according to his own words.
Currently attended by about 50 children. Both operate in the same House, and it highlights the need for a local to teach classes.""
That's how what some might call "tragic event", has served to test their own talent and capacity.
Proving to be a man of faith, acknowledged: "The largest capacity which can have" u000a"a human being is knowing Jesus."
