Mariano Rodríguez is the President of the Electoral

The National Judiciary Council (NJC) designated last night five titular judges and equal number of alternate members of the new Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), which will be chaired by Dr. Mariano Rodríguez Rijo.

The High Court shall comprise, in addition, by John Guiliani, who will be Deputy to Ernesto Jorge Suncar; Mabel happy Báez, Rosa Pérez of García alternate; José Manuel Hernández Peguero, his Deputy Alfredo González Pérez; and Marino Mendoza, his alternate Braulio Alcántara.

The President of the Tribunal will have as an alternate to Román Jáquez Liranzo. The designations were given to know close to 8: 00 pm after a working session headed by the President of the Republic and the CNM, Leonel Fernández, in the Palacio national.

Addition of Fernández, make up the NJC the Chairmen of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ), Jorge Subero Isa; Senate, Reinaldo wall Pérez, and the Chamber of Deputies, Abel u000aMartínez Durán.

Also, the Attorney general of the Republic, Radhamés Jiménez; the reformist Senator Felix Vasquez, Deputy perredeísta Hugo Núñez and the judge of the SCJ, Victor Jose Castellanos.

The TSE and the Constitutional Court were established in the Constitution, which on 26 January will two years passed.

During the evaluation process carried out previously by the NJC to form the high courts, were assessed 272 candidates, 281 called originally.

"It was agreed, therefore, suspend work for today and resume tomorrow Wednesday at 8: 00 p.m. in this same place, to proceed with the formation of the remaining courts, i.e., the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court of Justice", said Pina.

President CONDECORA to the Supreme Court
President Leonel Fernandez awarded to a Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) with the order of merit of Duarte, Sánchez and Mella, in the grade of Grand Cross silver plaque, on the occasion of having fulfilled this agency 100 years in the exercise of its powers of Court of Cassation.

The aforementioned award him had been conferred on 19 February 2008, by Decree number 76-08

The ceremony took place in the National Palace with the assistance of all members of the SCJ. In his speech, the President of SCJ, Jorge Subero Isa, stressed that with the u000aaward the President recognizes all the judges who have been part of the institution during the hundred years from 1908 to 2008, "because without exception have been honourable, honest and judges committed to a good and better administration of Justice".

President Fernandez valued the centenary of the institution in its powers of Court of Cassation and the changes experienced by the judicial system of the country since 1997.

Was a close collaborator of the extinct leader perredeísta José Francisco Peña Gómez, who was head of press at a time.

Previously was Chairman of the Electoral Board of the National District (1999-2006). He is lawyer and University Professor, doctor of law, graduate of the UASD, Bachelor's degree in philosophy, a graduate of Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra.
