Mejia meets with 30 diplomats and sets out his programme of Government

Viewed 16 times.The presidential candidate of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), Hipólito Mejía, met with more than 30 representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Dominican Republic, who explained what will be its programme of Government concerning relations international.
The former President said his Government based its external relations in the unrestricted respect for international law, that always links its, bilateral and multilateral obligations giving continuity to these commitments, so that they allow to expand and diversify the relations of the Dominican nation to the rest of the world. He stated that his Government's foreign policy will be based on the principles of democratic socialism, on the sovereign equality of States and inclusive social justice.
Mejia said it will be based on the ethical and moral values expressed in the ideological thinking raised u000athe leader of the PRD, José Francisco Peña Gómez.
Activity was sponsored by the Secretariat and the campaign command of international relations who preside over Mrs. Peggy Cabral de Peña Gómez and the Ambassador Rafael - Cucullo - Báez.
Mejia hoped that diplomatic representatives forwarded to their respective Governments, which constitute some of the guidelines of what will be its foreign policy to be applied from the Presidency of the Republic.
In that connection, it focused on the universal protection of human rights and the self-determination of the peoples on the basis of the principles of mutual respect and the equality before the law between States and Nations.
He stressed that it will strengthen the presence of the country in the international organizations, as well as forums global, regional and specialized in the UN and the OAS.
