Mexico caught more than 205 tons of chemicals for drug

Mexican authorities seized in a port on the Pacific more than 205 tons of a chemical used to produce drug synthetic.

The Secretariat of the Navy reported in a statement that the substance, identified as monometilamina, was located in the customs of the port of Lázaro Cárdenas, in the Western State of Michoacan, in containers from China.

The containers had as their final destination Puerto Quetzal, on Guatemala.

The chemist was distributed in 3.152 barrels scattered in 11 containers.

The monometilamina is a chemical subject to the Mexican health authorities special verification, he pointed out the Navy.

Mexico has banned imports of several chemicals to prevent the production of methamphetamine.

The American Government has said that Mexican traffickers are the main suppliers of synthetic to United States drugs

Michoacán is a State u000aconsidered stronghold of La Familia, a poster that has been pointed out as the main dealer of methamphetamine, but that according to the authorities has been weakened to such a level that only some cells remain operational.
