"The family withdrew the request for compensation and the case was removed from the calendar," said a spokesman of the Superior Court of Los Angeles to AFP.
The Prosecutor's Office was going to ask Dr. Murray, sentenced to four years in prison for the death of the "King of pop", 100 million dollars in compensation for the family.
But Murray lawyers said he had no sense, given that the cardiologist has no money. However, analysts say that the request for compensation may have been done to avoid that Murray benefits from the case in the future, selling his story.
On 7 November last year, Murray was found guilty of manslaughter for having administered the powerful anesthetic propofol to Michael Jackson u000ait caused his death on June 25, 2009.
Jackson, who was rehearsing for a series of concerts in London at the time of his death, was suffering from insomnia and regularly received the anesthetic to be able to sleep.
