Monthly salary of $33,350 ISR-free

Salaried workers would receive retroactively to 1 this month savings on their monthly salaries, in accordance with the implementation of the annual inflation adjustment established by law on tax on income (ISR).

For this purpose, the salaries of up to RD$ 33,350 would be exempt from the payment of the income tax this year, taking into account inflation in the year just ended to close by 8 per cent of GDP, according to have informed the authorities.

Each year, and a mid-January, the Directorate General of internal taxes (DGII) released from the payment of the ISR salaries according to inflation workers.

The measure applies with retroactive effect to 1 January. At present, the wage exemption is up to RD$ 30,880, so now apply to those who make RD$ 2,400 over that amount, which is equivalent to an indirect increase in their salaries.

The ISR applied to natural persons provides several scales, 15%, 20% and a maximum of 25%. u000aLegal persons pay a rate of 29% of their income, a measure which was amended in the Bill 139-11 of fiscal reforms. Indexing (adjustment) salary is covered in Article 327 of the tax code and 105 of the rules 139-98 of the income tax. The sections of the tax scale is the result of the application of the inflation multiplier, calculated on the basis of the rate of inflation determined by the Central Bank.

Inflation adjustment enters every year automatically and thus a new scale salary which is published on the virtual page of DGII, the link table of withholding.

In 2008 applied exemption was to RD$ 26,334.75 monthly in 2009 up to RD$ 27,525.8, and in 2010 up to RD$ 29,110.5 monthly.
