Moral values initiative "Hopefor" in Doha, Qatar

Chancellor Carlos Morales Troncoso headed the Dominican delegation attending the International Conference of the initiative "Hopefor", held in Doha, Qatar since last weekend, to improve the effectiveness and coordination in the use of military and civil operations in disaster defense natural.

Released by Qatar in the United Nations, Hopefor is an initiative which were joined by Turkey and the Dominican Republic. The three countries pooled efforts and managed to sell to the General Assembly through a resolution adopted by consensus.

Before leaving the Conference in Doha, which culminates the 29th of this month, Morales Troncoso said that to spearhead the initiative Hopefor, "Dominican Republic is placed in a position relevant to the construction of a more effective system of humanitarian assistance at the United Nations, capable of meeting the challenges posed by climate change".
